Dock Rules Reminder
Here are reminders about just a few of the dock rules:
Please take the time to review the 2005 Dock Rules in their entirety and also provide your slip user with a copy of the rules to ensure that the rules are followed. If you need a copy of the rules, ask a Board Member or contact Huntington West.
Parking
Your parking spot is in your garage or on the street. Parking vehicles adjacent to garage doors on-water and off-water is limited to short term use, such as on street sweeping days or for loading/unloading. No overnight parking by garage doors. Be available to move your car at any time if your neighbors need access. Note that for off-water garages, the alley is City property and City ordinance permits no parking at any time in order to keep access free for emergency equipment such as fire trucks. The 8’ immediately next to your off-water garage door is common area and not part of the alley, so short term parking is permitted.
Dock Work
The Maintenance Workgroup and Dock Committee members have walked the dock and assessed the safety and maintenance needs. In response to their recommendations, the Board has authorized Swift Slip to do a number of repairs and adjustments to the docks which we hope will start soon.
Wood Fence
A number of homeowners have suggested to the Board that there is a need to waterproof the new wood fence on Saybrook which the City installed. Since the fence is City property, and the City does not intend to paint it, we have asked Huntington West to research any restrictions on the association painting the fence. If you would like to contribute to the work - either toward the cost of the materials or by holding a paint brush - please let the Board know. We hope to start the work in June.
Porch Lights
CBTI reminds you to keep your porch light on from dusk until dawn. Every porch light has a motion detector to turn the light on when activated. Outdoor lighting is the most frequently recommended safety precaution suggested by experts and is well worth the small expense. Your neighbors thank you.
